It is daunting to come up with a conclusive guide on Kratom dosing because of various factors. To begin with, people process Kratom differently. The factors that determine how the body processes Kratom include tolerance levels and rates of metabolism.
Besides, different Kratom strains have varying potency levels. Therefore, it is not easy to say what effects you will experience after taking a certain strain. Kratom can also affect you differently depending on the amount of food in your system. If you take the botanical substance when your stomach is empty, it is better to stick to a low dose because you will feel the effects more strongly.
Take Kratom in moderation
The proper dosage for Kratom depends on various factors. The most common reason being why you are taking the substance. With this in mind, the recommendation for using Kratom is to start with a small dosage and slowly build it up. This is what I have done and it has enabled me to determine which dosage suits me right.
For starters, try using moderate doses of Kratom, and from there, you can then increase the dosage with time. You can start with about 2-3 grams. If you do not experience the desired effects after 20 to 30 minutes, take another gram or two. By doing so, your system will adopt the substance with ease, and you can adjust with no complications. Moreover, taking lower doses of Kratom reduces the possibility of building tolerance in your body.

High dose – 8 grams
Moderate dose – 4 grams
Mild dose – 2 grams
If you take a high dose from the start, you might experience some unpleasant side effects. Some of its side effects include:
- Nausea and vomiting
- Loss of appetite
- Mild dizziness
In most cases, many of the problems occur if you take the herb in high dosages or after prolonged usage. Researchers do not know the exact Kratom dosage that can cause toxicity in the body. However, as with the case regarding other medications and recreational drugs, there is a possibility of overdosing Kratom or developing a tolerance.
If your body becomes tolerant to Kratom, you must take a higher dose to experience the same effects. You can avoid developing such tolerance by taking Kratom infrequently, such as 2 0r 3 times a week.
From my experience, Kratom is usually effective within 10 minutes, and its effects can last up to 5 hours. When taking Kratom, it is vital to stay hydrated because it tends to be dehydrating. By staying hydrated, you can avoid feeling any unpleasant side effects.
